Meet the Team

Judy Duncan


A long-time equine enthusiast, Judy’s connection and love for riding began when she was two years old and bought her first horse at eleven with her allowance. 

Judy has embraced the equine community and is proficient with Gymkhana, trail riding, and is a lifetime board member of the Palomar Riders Club.

Judy attended Palomar College, where she received a degree in business administration, which led her to a career as an administration manager for the school's Veteran's program.

Heavynn Gates


Heavynn has over 30 years of experience in the music & natural products industries & spent several years implementing consumer engagement campaigns for nationally-known brands. 

As Managing Partner, Heavynn is excited to share the benefits of Biiji & the natural components that are making a difference with consumers & horse lovers everywhere. 

Horse life has become a family affair with Heavynn, her Irish-born husband, & their young daughter, the ‘baby equestrian.’ A fun fact about Heavynn (yes, that’s her real name) is she moonlights as a songwriter, with some of her songs appearing on national TV & in film.

Heather Collins


For the past two decades, communications & marketing have been the cornerstone of Heather Collins’ career. As a former TV news reporter, Collins has been integral to emerging brands in the natural products industry & culturally focused, purpose-driven organizations in art, film, food & the literary arts.

Heather is passionate about being a part of the greater good that evokes positive change in our food systems, climate, education, & social initiatives & is proud to launch Biiji to the world. 

Based in Colorado, with a Mass Communications degree from the University of Denver, Heather enjoys all aspects of nature & animals. 

Janice L. Simmons


Janice is a natural health practitioner with three decades of experience in pain management & bio-nutritional supplementation for healing.  

With 30 years of experience & a master’s degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine from CIMU, Janice is an expert in pain & stress management in sports medicine & alternative pain management care.  

Janice is the creator of the formula that helped Judy’s horses heal naturally. Her background & experience in customized nutritional supplementation & pain management led to her developing products for Biiji Equine.
